These thoughts help us cope and feel more optimistic· "Red thoughts" STOP us from feeling good, or doing important things. Everyone has some unhelpful, discouraging, unrealistic red thoughts. I have no idea whether or not de Rome used this concept as the theme for this film· But it is pretty clear that de Rome viewed sex, including masturbation, as a "green thought" thing.
