The Experiment tells the story of two best friends whose “experiment” leads to a conflict in their friendship. Billy Joe and Gary Lee live in a dust bowl-like area in the American Southwest. They are handsome, young, best buds and don’t have a care in the world. That is, until they act on their desires and experience a night of passion. Confused, Billy Joe leaves his home and job at his Pa’s diner/gas station, and wanders the surrounding area, embarking on an odyssey in search of himself. Will fate and the power of true love bring the young friends back together? [seller]

Notes
The plot for The Experiment is little more than an envelope to tie together a series of explicit erotic scenes· For 1973 the sex may have been adventuresome, but by today's standards is pretty lame· So, these two young best friends decide to "experiment"· After a few bumps and grinds, they find their "true" selves· The producer and director are experienced porn filmmakers; but overall, the film is pretty banal· Unless you have an interest in the history of queer films, you may want to put this one low on your "to view" list.
