Notes
Of the film bios of I've seen of Derek Jarman, this is the best· Straightforward, mostly chronological, with much of the narration in Jarman's own words, one gets a good feel for his life and times· Actor Tilda Swinton recollections are clearly of someone who misses her friend and colleague very much· Jarman was of my age, and many of the peripheral events portrayed in his life were similar to mine, particularly the awakening of gay liberation movement and the avant-garde arts of the 70s - of course, without Jarman's talents and social circles and with an American twist.
