Notes
A melodrama of two families which is not negatively focused on the queerness of their kids. Romeo and Juliet reimagined. The power of love and forgiveness· But there is also the coincidence that the young lovers unwittingly had such a dark connection many years before· There are moments when how unlikely this is becomes an elephant in the room, partly because whenever the movie tries some sleight of hand to divert me from thinking about it, it actually just ends up highlighting it.
