I have never been much of a fan of drag and drag queens, either as entertainment or an art form. I have never been able to understand why many gaymen have a fascination for drag. I suspect that there are quite a few masters and doctorial thesis that explore the subject. I have never watched an episode of RuPaul's Drag Race (for which he has received six prime time Emmy Awards,) So even though I am well past "a queer of a certain age," I thought I would give AJ and the Queen a try. I was pleasantly surprised. Overall, a rather enjoyable romp. At least as good as The Adventures Of Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert or To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar, and mostly worth the considerable view time - ten episodes of fifty minutes each.
