The Lord's

•  •

The Hari Lord descendents link to the Jacob Potter descendents at Sarah P. or Serophina Lord, wife to Willis Potter.  Sarah is likely a 10th generation descendent of Hari Lord.  While this site includes her descendents, the Potter descendents site may be more up-to-date.

Sarah P. or Serophina Lord / Nathan or Nathaniel Lord

The descendents of Hari Lord are extensively documented at several sites (see Sources).  My "Lord" research has been primarily limited to establishing a link between Sarah P. or Serophina Lord (wife to Willis Potter) and the Hari Lord descendents line through Nathan or Nathaniel Lord, Sarah's great-grandfather.  I have otherwise not done any original research on the Hari Lord descendents.  Nor do I expect to do so.

While the preponderance of evidence so far suggests that this Nathan or Nathaniel Lord is the same as the Nathaniel (Nathan) Lord (b. 17 Feb 1744/45) of the Hari Lord descendents line, it should be noted that my family source record [Francine Toms Potter] does not indicate Nathan or Nathaniel Lord's parent's names.  There are discrepancies in the source records as to his birth place; the independent sources so far investigated (which have his birth place as Buxton, York, ME, in agreement with the family source) do not indicate his parents. Only one other source (independent from the family source) indicates his wife as Hannah Fields.  While unlikely, it is therefore possible that there were two Nathaniel or Nathan Lord's born on the same date in York County, Maine; or that the various sources are confusing two different individuals born about the same time.

There is therefore some weakness at this point in proving the line.  However, it seems likely that Sarah P. or Serophina Lord is descended from Hari Lord, just not necessarily in the line given here.
