"In P-Valley, Katori Hall’s new STARZ drama about the employees and patrons of the Mississippi Delta strip club The Pynk, exotic dancers take center stage. But these girls would be the first to say they owe it all to Uncle Clifford, the nonbinary owner of the The Pynk who looks over these strong women like a tough-loving den mother. Rocking acrylic nails, a perfectly-coiffed beard, and a seemingly endless supply of lace-front wigs, Uncle Clifford runs a tight ship — flitting from The Pynk’s backroom, where she oversees the bookkeeping and makes sure the dancers are stage-ready, to the main floor, where she greets her patrons by name and immediately knows what (or who) each one wants." Felix, a fourteen-year-old boarding high school student, spends the weekend at his conservative father's house. Unbeknownst to him, Felix starts a relationship with a much older boy, secretly hoping he will get caught so he can reveal his homosexuality to his father. | I did not pick up on te nuance "secretly hoping he will get caught so he can reveal his homosexuality to his father." found in the IMDb storyline. If that was the director/writer's objective, it didn't come through to me. |

In 1968 New York City - when being gay was still considered to be best kept behind closed doors - a group of friends gather for a raucous birthday party hosted by Michael (Jim Parsons), a screenwriter who spends and drinks too much, in honor of the sharp-dressed and sharp-tongued Harold (Zachary Quinto). Other partygoers include Donald (Matt Bomer), Michael's former flame, now mired in self-analysis; Larry (Andrew Rannells), a randy commercial artist living with Hank (Tuc Watkins), a school teacher who has just left his wife; Bernard (Michael Benjamin Washington), a librarian tiptoeing around fraught codes of friendship alongside Emory (Robin de Jesús), a decorator who never holds back; and a guileless hustler (Charlie Carver) hired to be Harold's gift for the night. What begins as an evening of drinks and laughs gets upended when Alan (Brian Hutchison), Michael's straight-laced college roommate, shows up unexpectedly and each man is challenged to confront long-buried truths that ... Swan Lake (Russian: Лебеди́ное о́зеро, romanized: Lebedínoye ózero), Op. 20, is a ballet composed by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky in 1875–76. Despite its initial failure, it is now one of the most popular ballets of all time. The scenario, initially in two acts, was fashioned from Russian and German folk tales[a] and tells the story of Odette, a princess turned into a swan by an evil sorcerer's curse. The choreographer of the original production was Julius Reisinger (Václav Reisinger). The ballet was premiered by the Bolshoi Ballet on 4 March [O.S. 20 February] 1877[1][2] at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow. Although it is presented in many different versions, most ballet companies base their stagings both choreographically and musically on the 1895 revival of Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov, first staged for the Imperial Ballet on 15 January 1895, at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg. For this revival, Tchaikovsky's score was revised by the St. Petersburg Imperial Theatre's chief conductor and composer Riccardo Drigo.[3] Two of the most celebrated dancers of this century appear in this performance. Rudolf Nureyev dances the role of Prince Siegfried, and dame Margot Fonteyn is Odette, Queen of the Swans. The Vienna State Opera Ballet and Vienna Symphony Orchestra are conducted by John Lanchbery" |

Longing to escape from the madness of urban life, Gaspar takes the trail for a quick dip in the lake. Heading to the city park, he is just another guy entering the "woody oasis where sex is a matter of nature" – as locals would call it. His search ends when he sees Sebastian emerging from the water. With a vagabond attitude and a provocative Danish accent, he is the one to show Gaspar how a simple thought can grow like a seed and become a desire. | |

"Swan Lake" is a timeless love story that mixes magic, tragedy, and romance. It features Prince Siegfried and a lovely swan princess named Odette. Under the spell of a sorcerer, Odette spends her days as a swan swimming on a lake of tears and her nights in her beautiful human form. The couple quickly falls in love. As in most fairy tales, things are not that easy and the sorcerer has more tricks to play. That brings Odile, his daughter, into the picture. Confusion, forgiveness, and a happy ending with Siegfried and Odette together forever round off the ballet. |
Frankly, I didn't much like this Bolshoi rendition of Swan Lake. The distributor, Kino Lorbe, has digitally restored and remastered the 1976 film recording of a historic Bolshoi performance marking the centenary of the first ballet made on the Tchaikovsky's score. I suspect that it is faithful to the cheoragraphy and and style of the 19th and early 20th century performance. |

Kinsey is a portrait of researcher Alfred Kinsey, driven to uncover the most private secrets of a nation. What begins for Kinsey as a scientific endeavor soon takes on an intensely personal relevance, ultimately becoming an unexpected journey into the mystery of human behavior. Oscar-winner Bill Condon followed up his masterpiece Gods and Monsters with this magnificent biopic of sex researcher Alfred Kinsey. Kinsey’s name has a way of getting omitted from history books because of his field of study. Fortunately, Kinsey aims to remedy that injustice, chronicling the titular scientist’s study of sexual histories in human beings. |
