Recovering from an ill-fated affair with a married man, Gabe finds solace in the relationship he maintains with his ex-wife and daughter. On the other side of town, Ernesto evades life at home with his current live-in ex-boyfriend by spending much of his spare time in the hospital with an ailing past love. Immersed in the routine of their small-town world, they maintain a yearning for close personal male-to-male relationships and romance. We often forget that the 10% are found everywhere, including small towns and rural America. The film attempts to capture the emotional isolation of these two men while minimizing melodrama; to my mind, it mostly succeeds.
