Why would a straight man conclude he could do better with girls if he pretended he was gay? “Eating Out” has the answer. Caleb (Scott Lunsford) asks for advice from his gay friend Kyle (Jim Verraros) who is quite popular in a platonic sense with women. Kyle recommends that Caleb pretend to be gay to see what could happen. No one suspects that he is really straight, pretending, and with a gay roommate, why would anyone think he is straight? Indeed, when he is outed to family and friends, they all wonder why he took so long to admit it. This begins to plant doubts in Caleb, the straight man, about his own sexual orientation to the degree that it is a toss up with whom he may choose to sleep in the story. All of the characters want to have sex with someone who wants another person, making for merriment.

Notes
A teen/20-something sex comedy -- that is not particularly funny -- I think I smiled only once -- Why it's spawned a whole series of sequels is a mystery?
