"The Walker" is the story of Carter Page (Woody Harrelson). Born to a prominent and wealthy Southern family, Page plays the role of a charming, impeccable, and impeccably gay escort who accompanies the wives of Washington, D. C.'s most powerful men. One frequent companion, Lynn (Kristin Scott Thomas), draws Page into a murder mystery when she runs screaming from the home of her lover, claiming that someone has stabbed him to death. Page tries to protect his friend from scandal. He suppresses evidence that might incriminate her, and only succeeds in incriminating himself. He soon finds himself embroiled in a complex, high-stakes political plot. Page is shunned by the scandal-fearing politicos of D. C., and begins to question whether he should have ever wanted to be part of this society at all. |
