Tattoo is an interesting film of an aspect of the Brazilian resistance of the 70s and 80s, much in the flavor of Dzi Croquettes (see links) · There are many shots of the cabaret theatre performances, but the writing is weak especially in the area of character development · It is a bit of a shame Tattoo doesn’t reach a bit further, as if it had delved deeper into the characters, their problems and conflicts, it could have been great. I never developed much empathy for either Clécio (leader of the theatre troup) or Fininha (the young soldier) · With the exception of a pretty face, what drew them together so quickly and deeply?
