Fergus is a member of the IRA, where he has a brief but meaningful encounter with a British soldier, Jody, who is held prisoner by the group and eventually killed. Fergus promised Jody he would protect. Jody's girlfriend, Dil. Fergus had an unexpected romantic relationship with Dil, whom he did not recognize as transgender at the time., Events force Fergus to decide what he wants for the future, and ultimately what his nature dictates that he must do. |
