A beautiful and haunting film made soon after the suicide of Fassbinder's lover, Armin Meier -- As one might expect, it is perhaps his most personal work -- He wrote, directed, designed, photographed and edited it himself, and, it is said, he laid bare his most profound feelings and ideas -- I have a general policy of not reading indepth reviews prior to viewing a film, except insofar as they may be a guide to films I may want to view or add to my collection -- Let yourself go with the flow on this one, then read Jim Clark's review and commentary (in the Links section) -- You will probably want to see the film again.
