I first saw Naked Boys Singing with a group of my friends when it was being performed live at the Actors Playhouse, West Village, NYC, October 19, 2003 -- it was a fun boys night out -- revisiting the performance as a film in 2016 was also fun, but lacked the immediacy and intimacy of a the live review -- the attempt to add cinematic elements to the stage production was somewhat jarring, but did not distract very much from the exuberance, joy and excellence of those naked boys singing and dancing.
