David Berman is the reclusive lead singer and songwriter of a small, independent rock and roll band called The Silver Jews. In 2006, Berman and his band came out of their self-imposed exile to tour Israel and play a series of concerts. The decision to tour Israel sprung from Berman’s emerging identification with his own Judaism, and filmmaker Michael Tully (Cocaine Angel) was there with his camera in hand to capture The Silver Jews as they embarked on their journey.
