My Dinner With Andre is one of Richard and my all time favorite films -- This is not an action film, instead it consists entirely of two men having an erudite conversation over dinner -- The film itself is well crafted, seamlessly creating the illusion of a single take at a real restaurant meal, when it was in fact filmed on a stage set over several weeks, and largely crafted in the cutting room -- "What they actually say is not really the point, … it is a conversation, in which the real subject is the tone, the mood, the energy" (Roger Ebert).
