Notes
I'm unsure how I came to miss this film when released in 1999, although it was during a period when both my parents died -- I found it a very good film, it has worn well -- I find it interesting that there is so little mention of the gay subplot in contemporary critics reviews -- And was also annoyed at the not so subtle "suburban" point-down of the film --
The film won may awards when released in 1999, including Academy Awards in 2000: Best Picture; Best Actor in a Leading Role; Best Director; Best Writing, Screenplay Written Directly for the Screen; Best Cinematography --
