In 2013, United Methodist minister Frank Schaefer was defrocked for officiating at his son's same-sex wedding. Suddenly, the Reverend found himself an accidental LGBTQ activist. Considering all sides of the debate, this powerful documentary shows how the groundwork for a 2016 showdown that may transform American Christianity is being laid.

Notes
Starting in the 1970s, I was personnally involved in a similar revolution within the Presbyterian Church (USA) -- While the polity is different, the underlying issues are similar -- My church has come a long way on LGBTQ acceptance since the 1970s, as has western society in general -- The United Methodist Church, fearful of a schism, punted at their General Conference in 2016 voting for more study (in religious language, more "discernment")--
See the Human Rights Campaign' (HRC) "Faith Positions" summary in the links section of this page.
While this film has a fairly high IMDb rated, as of the date of this note (February 2017) there have been only 13 voters, most of whom are likely to have been supporters
