Loosely based on the director's own 41st birthday party, Dinner at 40 was a labor of love that Carl Byrd and screenwriter Peter Macklin collaborated on. The story touches on the feelings of a gay man turning 40: the panic, the doubt, and the supposed loss of his youth as he spends a 'quiet' evening at a restaurant with a small group of his closest friends. Unexpected dinner guests, crazy friends, a hot ex, cocktails and a drag queen. |
