Notes
My first viewing of Parting Glances was thirty years after its release in 1986 -- And I was admittedly apprehensive, expecting perhaps a maudlin portrayal of the AIDS plague, or that the AIDS undercurrent would bring back too many painful memories -- Although in many respects it is a period piece, I found the film to be witty, humorous, serious and true -- I liked it -- An essential film in the lexicon of modern gay culture -- (See esp. Michael D. Klemm's review at CinemaQueer link).
